what our Graduates say
“The experience I gained surpassed all my expectations and prepared me fully to start my career as a professional designer in the fashion industry. The course was both creative and technical in its approach and, though the three years were demanding and hard work, the excitement and the results were totally worthwhile. ”
Christopher Bailey, Chief Creative Officer, Burberry
"The BA at Westminster got me completely set up for starting my career. The course pushes your individual creative identity, while the internships and year in the industry give you all the professional understanding you need. The design projects with industry were great for getting us jobs before we even graduated."
Niall Cottrell, Womenswear Designer, Versace. 2015 Graduate
“I had a fantastic time at Westminster! I gained so much knowledge of not only the design process but also the whole business side of fashion too. The tutors are really great, so supportive and knowledgeable and they really pushed me to be the best I could. By the time I left, I was completely prepared to start up on my own label.”
Mary Benson, London Fashion Week Designer
“In the first and second years, I was taught all the technical skills I needed and was encouraged to develop my own style and discover what I loved through exciting projects and briefs. Then during my internship year, I had a paid internship with Tom Ford as part of his menswear design team. Because of this industry experience, I felt confident and prepared to produce a final collection and portfolio that will help me get the design job I desire after graduation.”
Alex Muto, final year student
“Very similar to the workload of a job in fashion. Four or five projects at once prepare you for managing multiple seasons simultaneously.”
“I learned absolutely everything I needed to know to start my own business. By the time I finished the course I was fully prepared.”
“Extremely eye opening to what a career in fashion would entail! Thanks to the tutors they prepared me technically and professionally for my career and gave me a positive reputation within the industry. In three years I have become a production manager at Roksanda — the proof is in the pudding, as to what Westminster can help its students achieve.”
